Justice In Practice Through Civic Engagement
Reclaiming Our Past. Activating Our Power. The Imperial Valley Social Justice Committee is a grassroots movement driving local, sustainable change. We believe transformation starts with informed, collective action. Our work is locally led, culturally grounded, and focuses on equipping our neighbors, youth, and elders to speak for themselves and hold public systems accountable.
We offer workshops and training programs to build community power and drive change. Our Activist Toolkit provides practical training in Leadership Development, Voter Education, Racial Equity, and Health Equity. We equip every resident with the knowledge needed to understand policy, organize effectively, and engage directly with the City Council and public systems.

Imperial Valley has a rich cultural tapestry. Our story is one of reclaiming this proud, diverse history through the Deep Roots Oral History Project. This project preserves underrepresented histories, ensuring the wisdom of our elders forms the foundation of our advocacy and promotes unity across all communities.

When bureaucratic barriers restrict participation, IVSJC helps push for change. We provide hands-on support for complex policy issues. Our team develops policy briefs and prepares residents to engage directly with decision-makers. This is solidarity through grassroots accountability.
